How is security evaluated at Bengaluru International Airport and extended to all its passengers and visitors?

Just like our quality and efficiency parameters, our safety standards too are high. We understand that airports and airlines the world over have become keen targets of threats. Add to this the increasing volume of air traffic, and maintaining a high-level of security becomes essential.

At Bengaluru International Airport, we have adopted effective and consistent measures to create a secure environment both at the airport and during the flight. While making air travel easy and comfortable, we take great care to ensure it's also safe.

The security is controlled by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Headed by a Senior Commandant, the CISF uses the latest technology in screening and detection for frisking passengers and screening hand baggage. This is in keeping with the mandate from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), and ensures the safety of our passengers. We have been audited and given a license for commercial operations by the competent authority on the basis of this compliance.

Our anti-hijacking and anti-sabotage measures are mandated by the National Civil Aviation Security Programme. The guidelines are issued by the appropriate authority for civil aviation security in India.

Fog Related Information

Why can’t periods of fog be predicted early?

I can observe fog near my residence. Does it mean that the visibility on the runway will be affected and flights will be delayed?

No. Fog can be highly localised in certain areas and be absent in areas just a few hundred metres away. Therefore, it is not advisable for you to assume lack of visibility at the airport or the runway, and delay in flight schedules.

When is fog anticipated at Bengaluru International Airport?

Weather being a natural phenomenon, this is difficult to forecast. However, fog is anticipated from November 15 to February 15, between 03:00 to 08:30 IST.
